Hello Students (and Parents)!
My name is Mr. Arbuckle and I am very excited to be teaching you Social Studies and/or Science this year! I have studied Social Studies and Science throughout my educational career and hold a Masters Degree in Education, majors in History, Geography and Earth Science, and a post-Baccalaureate in World History. I have been a teacher at Manhattan for over 10 years and love the academics and arts that Manhattan has to offer. Also, I love traveling and learning about different cultures and have traveled to over 45 different countries to further explore our amazing planet. Outside of school I like being active! I love trail running and have completed several marathons and ultra-marathons up to 100 miles. I also play soccer, rock climb, surf, snowboard, and generally enjoy anything that involves movement. Music is another passion of mine and I play guitar, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, and bass. I like to write my own music and currently play in a fun band. I love learning and am continually taking classes to further evolve myself as a teacher and human. Aside from teaching, one thing that I love learning about is card magic. I have had fun developing my own magic tricks and some of them I use in the classroom; some I can even teach you! Lastly, I have found great value in volunteering, from Community Food Banks to Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and have volunteered around the world as well as right here in Colorado. If you are into sports, I coach Cross Country, Track, and Soccer at Manhattan, which are a lot of fun. I look forward to working with you this year in Social Studies and/or Science! Please feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions throughout the course. Happy Learning!
